Troubleshooting
This page lists the messages you might see in Cinara and what to do about them.
Microphone and recording

Tips:
- Choose Test mic before you record. The level bars move when you speak. Nothing is recorded during a test. Choose Stop test to finish.
- Cinara remembers your microphone choice in this browser. If that microphone is unplugged, it uses the default one.
- If you unplug the microphone while recording, Cinara keeps what was recorded so far.
Uploads

Tips:
- Large files upload in parts, a few at a time. Keep the page open until the upload reaches 100%.
- Choose Cancel next to the progress bar to stop an upload.
- If a file shows "length unknown", some features can't estimate its cost or check its length. Try converting it to MP3 or MP4.

Phone verification

Resend code is available 30 seconds after the last code. Choose Change number to use a different number.
Signing in

| Confirm your email first: open the link we sent you, then sign in. | Open the confirmation email. On the sign-up screen, choose Resend email if you can't find it. |
| Enter your mobile number with its country code. | On sign-up, add your mobile number. |
If Cinara can't load your account after you sign in, you see a message with Try again and Sign out. Choose Try again first.
Not enough credits
- Before you start, pages show Not enough credits next to the main button.
- If you start anyway, you see "This needs N credits" (or "This needs about N credits" for Talking Avatars). Nothing is charged.
- Check your balance in Usage & Credits.
You can't buy credits yet. See Buying credits.
Failed jobs and refunds
When a job fails, its credits are refunded automatically.
- On a feature page, the item shows Failed · refunded, or a message ending "Your credits were refunded."
- In History, its cost shows Refunded.
- In Usage & Credits, you see a Refund entry.
Common messages:

| Feature took too long and was stopped. | A job still running after 3 hours is stopped and refunded. Try again, maybe with a shorter file. |
| Feature couldn't start. Your credits were refunded. | Try again in a moment. |
| This video couldn't be made from this request. Try a different description or image. | Change the description or the image. |
| This photo couldn't be animated. Use a clear, front-facing photo of one face. | Use a clearer photo. |
| The voice couldn't be made. Try again in a moment. | Talking Avatars couldn't make the speech. Nothing was charged. Try again. |
| N of M takes couldn't be made, so they weren't charged. | Some sound effect takes failed. You only pay for the ones made. |
| N image(s) held back by the safety filter and not charged. | Change the description if you need those images. |
Tips:
- Most long jobs keep going after you leave the page. Open the item again from its page or from History to see the result.
- Studio records only while its page is open. If recording seems stuck, open the audiobook again.
Voice cloning and consent checks

| The one-time code wasn't heard. Read the whole statement aloud, including the code words, then keep talking. | Read every code word clearly, in order. |
| The consent statement wasn't read clearly enough. Read it word for word, then keep talking. | Read the statement exactly as shown, at a steady pace. |
| More than one voice was heard. Record only the person whose voice is being cloned. | Record somewhere with no one else talking. |
| Keep talking for at least 20 seconds in total, so there's enough of the voice to clone. | Keep reading the passage after the statement. |
| This consent statement has expired or was already used. Get a new one. | Choose New statement and record again. |
| Cinara doesn't clone the voices of well-known people. | See Safety and consent. |
| Too short: keep talking for at least 20 seconds. | Record a longer take. |
For Singing Voice recordings, the same checks apply, and the messages say "keep reading" instead of "keep talking".
Expired or unavailable links

A share link that doesn't work shows This link isn't available, with one of these reasons:

Players on a shared page stop working about 2 hours after the page was opened. Reload the page.
Players and downloads in your own workspace
- Players and download links in Cinara last about 6 hours. If a page has been open longer and a file won't play, reload the page.
- A player may say "Couldn't play this audio". Reload and try again.
- Your browser may block audio that starts by itself. Press play.
Other things that expire
- Voice Design: "This design has expired: designs must be saved within 7 days. Generate it again to save it."
- Consent statements: they last 30 minutes. Choose New statement.
- Uploads: an unfinished upload can expire. Choose the file again.
