Singing Voice

Singing Voice turns a cloned voice into a singing voice. Then you can hear songs sung in it: your own Music songs, or a song or vocal you upload.

Before you start

• You need a cloned voice. If you don't have one, the page says "Clone a voice first, then come back to give it a singing voice." Choose Go to Voice Cloning. See Voice Cloning.
• The person whose voice it is must be there to record. Each recording starts with their own consent statement.
• If the page says "Singing voices are coming soon.", the feature isn't available to you yet.

Step 1: Collect enough recordings

A singing voice learns from the voice's cloning recording plus a few more recordings. About two more minutes of reading or singing is enough.

1. Open Singing Voice in the sidebar. You can also choose Sing next to a voice in Voice Cloning.
2. If you have several cloned voices, choose one from the menu.
3. Check Recordings. It shows how much you have, for example "1:02 of 1:30", and lists Voice cloning recording and each Extra recording.
4. Choose Add a recording · 100 credits.
5. The speaker reads the consent statement aloud first. It's shown under "Speaker reads this aloud first".
6. Then they read the passage, or sing a few lines they know. Choose Another passage for different text.
7. Choose Start recording, then Stop when done. Or choose Upload a recording.
8. Listen to the recording. Choose Record again if needed.
9. Choose Save recording.

Cinara checks the consent statement (Checking the consent statement…). If it passes, the recording is added. If it fails, you see why, and your credits are refunded.

Other controls:

• New statement: get a fresh statement.
• Cancel: close the recording panel.
• The statement shows Statement valid until time.

Step 2: Make the singing voice

1. When you have enough, choose Make the singing voice.
2. Training usually takes 10 to 20 minutes. You can leave the page and come back.
3. When it's done, the voice shows Singing voice ready.

To train again from all recordings later, choose Make it again. Cinara asks you to confirm, because it costs credits again.

Step 3: Sing a song

1. Under Sing in voice's voice, choose what to sing:
   • A song from Music: pick a finished song from the list. If you have none, choose Make one in Music.
   • Upload a song: choose Choose a song. The singer is replaced and the music kept.
   • Upload just a vocal: choose Choose a vocal. This is a recording of only the singing, with no music. Your own take works best.
2. Choose the Pitch:
   • As sung
   • One octave lower (song sung by a higher voice)
   • One octave higher (song sung by a lower voice)
3. For a vocal only, you can tick Pitch correction: tune the vocal to the nearest notes.
4. Choose Sing it.

A three-minute song takes about two to four minutes. When it's done, play it or choose Download. Choose Sing another song to go back.

Songs in your voices on the right lists your last 20.

Limits

• The singing voice needs at least 1:30 of verified speech across all recordings, including the cloning recording.
• Up to 6 extra recordings per voice.
• Each recording: at least 20 seconds, up to 5 minutes. Audio files only.
• You can't add recordings while the voice is training.
• Songs up to 6 minutes. Audio files only.
• Pitch correction works only with Upload just a vocal.

If a step fails, your credits are refunded.

Tips

• Record somewhere quiet, with only the speaker heard.
• Read a different passage each time. It gives the voice more to learn from.
• Singing a few lines you know well helps the voice sound natural on high and low notes.
• More recordings usually mean a closer match. Add recordings, then choose Make it again.
• If the song's singer is much higher or lower than the voice, try an octave option.
