Drive and sharing
Drive holds every file you make in Cinara, plus files you upload. Organise them in folders and share links that play in Cinara's player.
What's in Drive
- Your results: every finished audio, video and image result is added automatically when you open Drive. Results without a file, like transcripts and voices, aren't added.
- Your uploads: audio, video and images you upload to Drive.
Each file shows its name, where it came from (Uploaded, or the feature, like Speech or Sing in my voice), when it was made, its size, and a Shared tag if it has an open link.
Use Drive
- Open Drive in the sidebar.
- Click a folder to open it. Use the path at the top (Drive / folder) to go back.
- Click a file to play or view it. Click it again to close.
- Choose Load more at the bottom to see older files.
Upload a file
- Choose Upload.
- Pick an audio, video or image file.
- You see "Uploading name… N%". The file goes into the folder you're in.
Folders
- New folder: type a Folder name, then Create folder (or press Enter). Press Escape or Cancel to stop.
- Rename: type a New name, then Rename.
- Move: choose Drive (top level) or a folder, then Move. A folder can't go inside itself.
- Delete: "Delete the folder "name"? Everything inside moves up a level." Files aren't deleted.
Files
- Download: save the file.
- Share: create a link (see below).
- Rename and Move: as for folders.
- Remove (results you made): "Remove "name" from Drive? It stays in History, and its links stop working."
- Delete (files you uploaded): "Delete "name"? It's deleted for good, and its links stop working."
A removed result doesn't come back to Drive later. You can still find it in History.
Share a link
- Choose Share on a file or folder.
- Choose the settings:
- Allow download: people can download as well as play. Off by default.
- Link works: until I turn it off, for 7 days or for 30 days.
- Choose Create link and copy. The link is copied to your clipboard.
Anyone with the link can play the file (or every file in the folder) in Cinara's player, without signing in.
Manage links
Under Links in the share window, each link shows:
- On, Turned off or Expired
- download allowed or play only
- the expiry date, or no expiry
- how many views
Choose Copy to copy it again, or Turn off to stop it working. A file or folder can have several links.
What people see
- The file's or folder's name, and "Shared with a link" or the number of files.
- "link works until date" if the link expires.
- A player for audio and video, or the image.
- Download, if you allowed it.
- For a folder, a playlist. It plays on to the next file.
Limits
- Uploads: audio, video, and PNG, JPEG or WebP images.
- Files up to 2 GB; images up to 20 MB.
- File names up to 200 characters; folder names up to 120.
- 100 files per page; choose Load more for the rest.
- A folder link shows up to 200 files from that folder, oldest first. Files in subfolders aren't included.
Credits
Drive, uploads and share links don't cost credits.
Tips
- Put an audiobook's chapters or an album's songs in one folder and share the folder as a playlist.
- Use for 7 days for review links, and turn links off when you're done.
- Leave Allow download off when people only need to listen.
- Removing or deleting a file stops all its links straight away.
