Brand kits
A brand kit keeps your logo, colours, fonts, title and caption looks, intro and outro in one place. Put it on any Editor project in one step, and every video looks like yours.
Make a brand kit
- Open Brand kits in the sidebar.
- Type a Name, for example your channel or company.
- Fill in what you need. Every part is optional:
- Logo: choose an image from Drive, or upload one. A PNG with a see-through background looks best.
- Colours: up to 8. Choose Add to pick one. Click a colour to change it; hover over it and choose × to remove it. The first colour is the main one.
- Titles: the font (Sans, Serif, Mono or Display), the Text colour, and the Box colour. The box colour is used by titles that have a box, like lower thirds.
- Captions: the font, the look (Highlight, Karaoke, Pop, Boxed or Subtitle), the colours for the Words, the Spoken word and the Box, and Capitals.
- Intro: a video or picture that plays first.
- Outro: a video or picture that plays after the last clip.
- Picture intro or outro: how long a picture used as the intro or outro stays on screen, from 1 to 10 seconds (3 to start).
- Background: the colour behind pictures that don't fill the frame.
- Under Logo on screen, choose the corner (Top left, Top right, Bottom left or Bottom right), the Size, the Opacity and the Space from the edge.
- Check the Preview in 16:9 and 9:16. It shows a title, a lower third, a caption line and your logo on a frame.
- Choose Save brand kit.
The small colour dots next to each colour setting are your brand colours: click one to use it.
Change or delete a brand kit
- Choose a kit in the list to open it. Change anything, then choose Save changes.
- Delete removes the kit. Projects it was applied to keep their logo, intro, outro and looks.
- If a file the kit uses was deleted from Drive, the kit says Not in Drive under it. Choose Choose again.
Apply a brand kit
In the Editor, with nothing selected, the right panel has Brand kit:
- Choose the kit.
- Untick anything you don't want: Logo in the corner, Intro, Outro, Title look, Caption look, Background colour. The logo, intro and outro only show when the kit has them.
- Choose Apply.
What happens:
- Intro: plays at the very start. Everything else moves later by the intro's length.
- Outro: plays after the last clip.
- Logo: sits in its corner on its own Logo track, from the end of the intro to the start of the outro.
- Title look and Caption look: every title and caption takes the brand's fonts and colours. Titles keep whether they have a box.
- Background colour: the project's background changes.
Applying is one step, so ⌘Z undoes all of it. Apply again replaces the logo, intro and outro the kit placed instead of adding more, so apply again after you change the kit or the project's shape.
Remove logo, intro and outro takes them off. The project starts where your first clip does again.
You can also ask in Prompt, for example "Add my brand logo, intro and outro". The plan shows the step as Apply the brand kit, and you can untick it.
In a branded project
After you apply a kit, the project remembers its look:
- Titles shows the title styles in your brand's font and colours, and new titles start that way.
- Captions start in your brand's look.
- Your brand colours come first among a title's colours.
- A title or caption that no longer matches shows Use the kit look, to change it back in one click.
- The logo, intro and outro clips are labelled Brand logo, Brand intro and Brand outro when selected. You can move, trim or change them like any clip; the logo's Opacity is under Placement.
Limits
- Free workspaces keep 1 brand kit. Paid plans keep up to 20.
- Up to 8 colours per kit.
- A kit's name can be up to 60 characters.
- The logo must be an image. The intro and outro can be a video or an image.
Credits
Brand kits are free: making, changing and applying them costs nothing. Exporting a project costs what an export always does.
