Account
Is Cinara free to try?
Yes. New accounts get 10,000 free credits once, at sign-up, and no card is needed. Free credits are for personal, non-commercial use.
Why do I need to verify my phone?
It keeps Cinara safe and your free credits yours. You need a verified mobile number before you can create anything. Standard SMS rates may apply.
Can I use the same phone number on two accounts?
No. A phone number can be linked to only one Cinara account.
I forgot my password. What do I do?
There's no password reset on the sign-in page yet. Email support@cinara.ai from the address you signed up with, and we'll help you get back in.
Can I invite my team?
Your workspace supports owner, admin and member roles, but there's no page to invite members yet.
How do I sign out?
Choose the sign-out icon at the top right of any page.
Credits
How do credits work?
Every generation costs credits. Each feature shows the cost next to its main button before you start. See Usage & Credits.
What happens if something fails?
Your credits are refunded automatically. You see Failed · refunded on the item and a Refund entry in Usage & Credits.
Why was I charged less than the estimate?
Some features reserve an estimate and then charge for what was actually made. For example, a Standard song that ends early, or a sound effect with automatic length. The unused credits come back.
How do I get more credits?
You can't buy credits yet. Paid plans and top-ups are coming soon. See Buying credits.
What costs nothing?
Voice previews, browsing the Voice Library, favourites, Drive, uploads, share links, History, saving a designed voice, and subtitles for Speech and Dialogue.
Creating
Which languages does Cinara support?
- Speech, Dialogue, Studio and Dubbing: 37 languages, including Hindi.
- Transcribe and Alignment: 31 languages you can pick, or automatic detection.
- Write lyrics with AI: 13 languages.

Can I close the page while something is being made?
Usually yes. Most features say "You can leave this page and come back". Open the item again from its page or from History. Two exceptions:
- Studio records chapters only while its page is open.
- Dubbing keeps going while its page is open somewhere, and picks up when you come back.
How long do things take?
- Speech: seconds.
- Sound effects: usually a few seconds.
- Transcripts and alignments: usually under a minute for an hour of audio.
- Images and designed voices: usually under a minute.
- Videos: usually under a minute, sometimes a few.
- Standard songs: about two minutes. Studio music: usually under a minute.
- Talking avatars: one to three minutes.
- Dubbing: a few minutes per minute of video.
- Songs in a singing voice: two to four minutes for a three-minute song.
- Training a singing voice: 10 to 20 minutes.
Where do my files go?
Every finished audio, video and image result appears in Drive. Everything you make is listed in History. Most results also have a Download button.
What formats can I download?
- Speech: MP3 (128 or 256 kbps) or FLAC.
- Transcripts: TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON.
- Alignments: SRT, VTT, LRC, karaoke LRC, JSON or TXT.
- Speech, Dialogue and Dubbing subtitles: SRT or VTT.
- Video, Talking Avatars and dubbed video: MP4.
Can I use what I make commercially?
You own what you make with Cinara. Commercial use needs a paid plan, and paid plans launch soon. Free credits are for personal, non-commercial use. See the Terms of Service and the Acceptable Use Policy.
Do files expire?
Designs in Voice Design must be saved within 7 days. Share links expire when you choose. Players and download links in the app last about 6 hours, so reload the page for fresh ones.
Voices
What's the difference between Voice Design and Voice Cloning?
- Voice Design makes a brand-new voice from a description. No real person is copied.
- Voice Cloning copies a real person's voice. That person must read a consent statement on the recording.
Can I clone someone else's voice?
Only with their agreement, recorded in their own voice. The recording must start with the consent statement, read by that person, and only they may be heard. See Safety and consent.
Can I clone or imitate a celebrity?
No. Cinara refuses well-known people's names in Voice Cloning, Voice Design, Images, Video, Talking Avatars and Music.
How many voices can I have?
Up to 10 cloned voices and 30 designed voices per workspace.
Why does a voice have different names?
Cinara voices have a first name for each region, so they sound natural in that language. For example, Mentor is "Nathan" in English and "Raghav" in Hindi. It's the same voice.
Sharing and API
Who can open my share links?
Anyone who has the link, without signing in. You choose whether they can download, and when the link expires. You can turn a link off at any time. See Drive and sharing.
Can I use Cinara from my own app?
Yes. Create a key in API Keys, then see the API reference. The API covers speech, voices, music, sound effects, transcription, audio tools, images, video, dubbing, audiobooks and Drive, billed to your workspace credits.
